The Generality of Erectile Dysfunction and Its Treatment (Infographic)

Erectile dysfunction, also known as impotency, is the inability to maintain an erection during intercourse. Some studies show that half of the American men suffer from it. Almost 50% of such cases are regarded as severe. Certain health conditions can increase the chance of getting this disorder. However, it was also seen in some studies that only 33% of people seek treatment.

They are usually given oral medication, but some men have complained about experiencing side effects from it. 69% of people claimed that the drugs did not cure erectile dysfunction. Doctors also prescribe some other treatments like penile injection, surgery for a penile implant, and vacuum erection device. Low-intensity shockwave has also been helping men with such diseases. 90% of men responded positively, and 70% reported improvement.
